Greywater Recycling system assists with high BREEAM accreditation

Ecozi supplies a greywater recycling system to the latest student accommodation building at the University of East Anglia. Greywater recycling provides a high efficiency solution to reduce mainswater consumption and help achieve a high BREEAM accreditation. Used water from student showers and wash hand basins is collected, Ecozi membrane technology is then used to filter the greywater and reuse it for WCs in the 120 room building for student accommodation. The filtered greywater is stored and processed in a multi-compartment underground tank before being distributed to WCs on demand from the plant room located rain manager with dual frequency controlled pumps.

Ecozi celebrates the 30th retail installation of its rainwater system

Morrisons Crawley opened in March with an Ecozi rainwater harvesting system. The 25,000L underground tank captures water from the roof and is distributed to the store’s WCs by a rain manager. The tank is located under the car park and the rain manager in a ground floor plant room. The store trading is on levels 1 & 2 of the brown field town centre site in Crawley. The dual pump rain manager uses frequency controlled pumps to reduce power consumption when compared to fixed speed equivalent pumps. The Morrisons store is the thirtieth retail system supplied by Ecozi to various out of town retail brands.

New childrens nursery opens with Ecozi rainwater system

NEXT Retail recently completed a nursery for employees children at their Enderby headquarters. The high specification Nursery provides an enhanced learning environment for children and low operating costs due to extensive use of renewable technologies. The rainwater harvesting system utilizes a pre-tank filter and underground 15,000L tank. The 1,200m² roof area is estimated to provide 80% of the annual rainwater demand required for the 16 WCs. A floor mounted rain manager is located in the plant room configured with two tank located loading pumps and two pressure pumps for final distribution to WCs upon demand.
